I am grateful to Huawei Technologies for the availability of laboratories and facilities to carry out the studies. The chapters of this edition were finalized while I was technical director of the company’s European Research Centre in Munich, while the first version was structured at the Christian Albretchs University of Kiel in Germany, where I spent a sabbatical year as a professorial fellow in the Chair of Communications.
