To work through the examples in this recipe, we'll need to use a Terminal session in either the 32-bit Ubuntu virtual machine or the 64-bit Ubuntu virtual machine created in Chapter 1, Setting Up the Lab. I will use the 64-bit virtual machine throughout this chapter, but feel free to use the 32-bit if you want. Once you choose which virtual machine to use, start VirtualBox if it's not running, and start the virtual machine of your choice if it's also not running. Once you're logged into the virtual machine, open up the Terminal application to begin.
