There are several tools available in Linux for the management of a network, however in CentOS 7, the additional nmcli utility has simplified and speeded up the setup of networking. nmcli is an acronym for the NetworkManager command line and is used to control the network-manager utility from the command line. The nmtui utility used to be a favorite of system administrators, however nmcli saves a lot of time and its capability to be used in script has make it one of the best networking tools in Linux.
