Summary

In this chapter, we began by learning what the different types of logging in the Linux system are, and how to use them effectively for debugging and troubleshooting Linux systems. Then, we learned about managing system services to optimize system performance. This was followed by understanding SELinux concepts to harden the security of applications and the system. Finally, we looked at how to filter the incoming and outgoing packets in the system using the firewalld framework.

Linux is all about learning by doing. If you have practiced the commands given in each chapter, together with the theoretical part, you will feel more comfortable while working on Linux. This book is written for novice Linux users, yet a seasoned Linux user will also have something to take away from each chapter. With this, our fascinating journey of kick-starting Linux with the CentOS 7 operating system comes to an end. If you have any queries, I would like to hear it from you.
