OpenVZ

In 2005, OpenVZ started as an open source software which brought huge improvements on existing implementations with the concept of container-based virtualization for the Linux platform. It allows you to create multiple, secure, and isolated Linux containers on a single physical machine. An OpenVZ container executes like a standalone operating system i.e. the container with its own boundary that can even be rebooted independently. It has its own root access, users, IP addresses, memory, processes, files, applications, system libraries, and configuration files.
