Cgroups

This project, started in 2006 by two Google engineers, was later released by the Linux community in January 2008. Cgroups (short form of Control groups) was then implemented as a Linux kernel feature that allows you to allocate resources such as CPU time, system memory, disk I/O, network bandwidth, and/or combinations of these resources to the user-defined groups of processes running on a system creating, a virtual boundary between regular OS processes and the cgroup-ed process group.
