Codes of NLP

When Bandler and Grinder came up with NLP, it was not as defined as it is now. Over time, it has received many contributions aimed at helping people understand the thinking models of humans. These were grouped into code. As time went by, Grinder faulted the initial code and decided to come up with a new code that was more focused on people's beliefs and how they could be changed. The new code focused on perceptions, techniques to overcome thought patterns, and how to change old habits. The new code also included states of a person's mind and perceptions of these states. The new code, as it is currently composed, is focused on changing a person's thinking model by targeting the unconscious brain rather than directly trying to change one's behavior. An example of how this is achieved can be drawn from salespeople. To increase their sales, they can first get potential buyers to talk about their life dreams and goals. With these, the salespeople can posit their products as a means to achieve these goals.

This is all focused on the unconscious brain and one will gravitate towards things that will get one closer to one's goals.
