Activity Reports in Microsoft 365 provide administrators and report viewers with the required data to understand how core components of Microsoft 365 are being used across the organization. In order to access Activity Reports, users should have at least one of the following built-in administrator roles:
- Global admins
- Exchange admins
- SharePoint admins
- Skype for Business admins
- Reports reader
Activity Reports present data about specific activities being executed by users in services, as well as the device profile that is being used to access them. It provides the following reports:
- Email activity
- Mailbox usage
- Office activations
- Active users
- Email apps usage
- Office 365 groups
- OneDrive for Business user activity
- OneDrive for Business usage
- SharePoint site usage
- SharePoint activity
- Skype for Business Online activity
- Skype for Business Online conference organized activity
- Skype for Business Online conference participant activity
- Skype for Business Online peer-to-peer activity
- Yammer activity
- Yammer device usage
- Yammer groups activity report
- Microsoft Teams user activity
- Microsoft Teams device usage
The Activity Reports screen displays an overview of some of the popular service-based reports, as shown in the following screenshot:
To access the Activity Reports, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Microsoft 365 admin center (https://admin.microsoft.com).
- Select Reports | Usage:
You can switch the report being viewed by using the Select a report drop-down menu at the top of the page. With the desired report selected, you can then use the steps in the next section to begin manipulating and exporting reports.
