Introduction

Alerts in Dynamics AX 2012 allow a user to be notified upon a change-based event; alternatively, it is based on the date on a record (for example, when an activity you have been assigned to becomes due). The framework is generic and built into the core of the system; therefore, you can build alerts on all forms that are bound to the data stored in SQL Server, for example, the customer details form.
