Microsoft SharePoint provides one of the most comprehensive sets of tools for creating multilingual sites. In conjunction with the publishing features, the multilingual features provide an end-to-end solution for creating, publishing, and translating web content. Introduced in SharePoint Server 2013, the machine translation service uses the Microsoft Translator service, formerly the Bing Translation service, to provide automated machine translations of content. The Microsoft Translator service is one of the web services offered through the Microsoft Windows Azure Marketplace. In this chapter, we will configure the machine translation service and create a multilingual site using SharePoint variations. We will create site variations for multiple languages.
