illustrator located in Brooklyn, New York.
She graduated from Tyler School of Art in

worked for Headcase Design in Philadel-
phia. Next she became senior designer at
design fi rm Louise Fili, Ltd, in New York.
While at Fili, Hische developed freelance
relationships with clients including
Tiff any & Co. and the New York Times.
In September , Hische left Louise
Fili, Ltd, to pursue freelancing full time.

German Olaya was born in Bogotá, Colombia, in . He started his
career as a type designer in  when he purchased his fi rst copy
of Fontographer, software for font designers. He subsequently started
his own website, www.typo.com, where he currently showcases his
own type designs and graphic experiments—which have brought
him worldwide recognition. Olaya’s celebrated work appears in all
types of media, including magazines, books, publications, and fi lms,
and on music labels, television, and snowboards.

Chester Jenkins was born in Montreal. He
is a type designer, publisher, and cofounder
of the cooperative foundry Village, with
Tracy Jenkins. He studied graphic design
at College Dawson in Montreal, and has
spent the past fi fteen years working in his
hometown, as well as in London, Utrecht
(The Netherlands), Chicago, and New York.
Jenkins has published several retail
typeface families that are used worldwide
by a range of clients including CBS Sports
and the United Nations. He has created
custom typefaces for the National Foot-
ball League, Condé Nast, and the New York
Times Magazine, as well as collaborated
with Rick Valicenti of the design fi rm Thirst
on several typefaces.
Since , he has been developing
typefaces in the OpenType format, taking
advantage of 
s multilingual Unicose
support and its stylistic potential. Jenkins’s
recent work outside the Latin alphabet
includes Cyrillic, Greek, and Hebrew
scripts, work he plans to incorporate into
future editions of his published types.

Eric Olson is a typeface designer, founder, and partner at Process
Type Foundry. He attended the University of Minnesota, where
he earned a degree in graphic design. Since , Olson has taught
typography at Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
In recent years, he has focused his attention primarily on client-
related work for Chevrolet, the New York Times Magazine, Thomson
Reuters, and Walker Art Center. Numerous design publications
have featured his work, including Eye, Print, HOW Magazine (),

Alejandro Paul is one of the founders of the
Sudtipos () project, the fi rst Argentinean
type foundry collective (whose other
members include Ariel Garofalo, Claudio
Pousada, and Diego Giaccone).
Paul taught graphic design and
typography at the Universidad de Buenos
Aires from  until  and has worked
as an art director in Argentinean studios
handling corporate brands such as Arcor,
Proctor & Gamble, SC Johnson, Danone,
and others.
In , he began designing fonts and
lettering for several packaging agencies,
creating some of his best-known work
to date. In , he presented at ,
the largest Latin American graphic
design event attended by more than ,
designers, and he has been invited to speak
at design and typography conferences in
Portugal, Germany, Chile, Brazil, Ecuador,
Uruguay, Mexico, Canada, and the United
States. His work has been featured in 
Inside Design, Creative Review (), Print,
Computer Arts, Visual, Creative Arts, and
Novum. In , Paul received his second
Type Directors Club () award for his
typeface Adios Script.
