In this recipe, we created aliases for the web server ports and the web server IP addresses. We then set up a load balancing pool with all three web servers, and set up pfSense to listen on the WAN IP address. We added monitors to help pfSense keep track of when servers within the pool are still online. Finally, since traffic won’t pass to the web server ports unless a firewall rule exists to permit it, we created a firewall rule to allow traffic to pass to the server pool.
