A New Weave
I know that not every painting is the masterpiece I was hoping it would be. I may put a less-than-favorite piece away for another day or I may find myself looking at it and deciding that I like parts of it but not the whole of it. That’s when I take scissors in hand.
TECHNIQUE ONE: Weave It
You can do this using several different pieces.
Step 1
Cut one piece of art into horizontal strips.
Step 2
Cut another piece of art into vertical strips.
Step 3
Weave together.
Step 4
Glue the weaving to your background with polymer or soft gel.
Step 5
Press with a brayer.
Step 6
Let dry.

More Ideas
• Paint the new piece, leaving some of the underlying paintings showing through.
• Use gold leaf or another embellishment to jazz it up.
• Slightly offset your strips so they are not in perfect alignment.
TECHNIQUE TWO: All Mixed Up
For this technique you need only one piece of art.
Step 1
Cut the work into strips or sections, vertical or horizontal.
Step 2
Rearrange the strips in a different order than the original or break them up by inserting space between them.
Step 3
Glue them to your background with polymer soft gel.
Step 4
Press with a brayer.
Step 5
Let dry.
