Conquer Fear

Do you wish you were looser with your color and could throw paint splashes on your canvas or splatter color across your precious painting? Do you fear making such a commitment? With this trick, you can appear wild and crazy while actually remaining in control. You can add those drips, splashes and swashes just where you want them.

Step 1

Drip, drop, splash or draw with your paint(s) on gampi tissue paper. Gampi is a silk tissue paper that “disappears” when glued down with acrylic polymer. After it is glued down, let it dry. Then trim the gampi around the painted areas so there is no excess.

Step 2

Experiment with the placement of your gampi paper cut-out to determine optimal color and placement.

Step 3

Then paint over the surface with polymer gloss that has a bit of water added. Lay the gampi tissue where you want it and continue brushing, from the center out to eliminate creases and bubbles. When the medium dries, you will see the paint but not the paper.
