Summary

In a profession where we've already spent significant time and money on our education if we want to make good on our investment we should understand what makes us passionate about why we come to work every day.

Understanding our why is key in understanding where we're going regarding our career, but also helps us be the best we can be for our team. We can be that person who turns up to work every day, fully motivated, volume dialed up to 10!

We've looked at some of the characteristics that have the makings of a great Agile team member. The purpose was to look at how we can each contribute as an individual to create a team that excels.

And having an entrepreneurial mindset doesn't mean we start a business, or take financial risks within our organization, but rather that we adopt the mindset of an entrepreneur. We seek to validate our ideas as soon as we can, proving whether our hypothesis is valid or not.

Finally, in the spirit of our continuous improvement, we discussed the importance of giving ourselves a learning habit. Making time to learn and, more importantly, learning how to learn within an environment that is fast-paced are important for both our own career development and our organization as well.

In the next chapter, we look a bit further into the learning mindset and discuss the importance of this from the team as well as the organizational perspective. As a team of knowledge workers, our job is to gather information around what people want and turn it into something that they need. In particular, we will look at how we scale this across our teams and the impact this will have on our organization.
