Q. What other data sources can I connect to apart from analysis service?

A. You can connect to a SharePoint list, SQL Server table, import data from an Excel workbook, and connect to Excel Services as well. Some of the data sources supported in the earlier versions of the product such as ODBC data sources and Analysis Services 2000 are not supported anymore.

Q. Can I have multiple pages in a PerformancePoint Services dashboard?

A. Yes, you can have more than one page in a dashboard and also select different templates for different pages. You can add a new page to the dashboard by clicking the New Page button in the Dashboard Designer workspace, while working on a dashboard. You can also rename the existing pages from there.

Q. The decomposition tree option is not visible (or disabled) for me. Am I missing something here?

A. The Decomposition Tree feature requires Microsoft Silverlight 3 to be installed. Either you don’t have Silverlight installed or it’s disabled. In either case the menu command will be either hidden or disabled and you won’t be able to use the feature.
