Q. Can you have multiple event receivers of the same type on a list/library?
A. Yes. You can have multiple event receivers of the same type on a list/library. Their execution sequence depends on the sequence property specified in elements.xml.
Q. Can you temporarily disable event firing?
A. To disable the event firing you need to remove the association of the event receiver with the list/list item. This is not temporary unless you associate the event receiver with the list/list item again.
