Using Calc Data in Other Applications

As far as creating spreadsheets and manipulating numerical data, Calc stands shoulder to shoulder with any of the other spreadsheet software programs available. When you work with a spreadsheet application like Calc, however, you will find that when you want to create a report that includes a great deal of text or would like to include the data in a special document like a Web page, you have to go outside Calc to actually create the report or Web page.

Since Calc works seamlessly with the other applications in StarOffice, such as Writer, you will find that it is easy to place data from Calc in these other applications' documents. As far as Calc's Web page-related abilities, you can save Calc spreadsheets in the HTML format. And if you feel very comfortable working in Calc's environment of rows and columns, you can even create a very simple Web page, including graphics and hyperlinks.
