Inserting a Graphic from a Scan
If you have a scanner attached to your computer, you can scan images directly into Calc. This means you don't have to scan the image and save it as a file (although you can also insert it into Calc as a file). You can also scan an image in at different resolutions until you get the image exactly the way you want it in the spreadsheet.
To Insert a Scanned Image
Once your scanner is turned on and the image is placed on the scanner, you are all set to go.

Click on the cell where you want the scanned image to be inserted in the sheet. |

Choose Insert, Graphics, From Scan, Select Source to open the Select Source dialog box; this is where you select the scanner to use. Select yourattached, installed scanner and click OK. If you don't see a scanner in this dialog box, you must first attach and install a scanner. |

Choose Insert, Graphics, From Scan, Request; this is where you activate the Scanner dialog box, which depends on the scanner you have attached to your computer or over a network, as well as the scanning software you have installed. |
If you have already scanned in an image and saved it as a file, simply refer to the section “To Insert a Graphic from a File” and select the scanned image file in the Insert Graphics dialog box.
To Edit a Scanned Image
Whether or not you can edit a scanned image such as a photo or other graphic will depend on the graphics editing software you have installed on your computer. Usually, every scanner comes with some kind of photo editing software, and the scanner typically saves scans in a format that is compatible with this software.
To edit a scanned image in a spreadsheet, double-click the scanned image. The photo should open in the software that you use to edit images. If no software is available, depending on the file format, the Image Editor may open; however, the amount of editing that you can actually do to the scanned image will be limited.
