The key activities in the forming phase center around the team liftoff. This will help each team member understand the team process, the team mission, and how each individual will contribute to the successful outcome of that mission.
In Chapter 5, Bootstrap Teams with Liftoffs, we looked at how to give our team a structured approach to follow during their formation so that they can easily identify:
- Their team mission and objectives
- How they will work together to achieve that mission
- How they will leverage their strengths for a successful outcome
The key outcomes of team liftoff is a team working agreement, which helps the team understand the boundaries they will work within, also known as the team container.
