The purpose of this chapter is to review some basic settings that you’ll want to be familiar with, for configuring and managing your site. We’ll look at additional functions and features in subsequent chapters.

Because of the powerful options Drupal has, it’s helpful to know the kinds of things you can control. The basic Drupal installation makes some educated guesses about how you’ll probably want some settings, but you’ll want to be aware of how you can change them in the future.
