Conclusion

Dear Reader,

Congratulations on wading through some information on keeping your Drupal site safe and secure. I recommend just exploring it as an experiment.

Overall, for peace of mind, I recommend composing documents and content for Drupal on your computer, in something like Microsoft Word or Open Office (free at www.openoffice.org), so that there’s always a copy, always a backup, no matter what. Then, if some hacker does get to your site, you still have the peace of mind knowing that you haven’t lost everything.

Or, for grins, even if you go with a Drupal site, you might like to compose or develop on a “Staging” site, using something like Google Sites, and maybe have it set to private, but use it as the place where you compose, organize, and develop the site. Then when the article/content is ready, just move it over to the Drupal site. If the worst happens, you’ve got a simple backup (and you’ve got a place you can point your website name to).

Best wishes!

Regards,

Todd
