Turn Your Visitors into Subscribers

Roger C. Parker, www.publishedandprofitable.com

“Your success as a self-employed professional depends on your ability to use e-mail to keep in touch with your prospects and website visitors,” claims Roger C. Parker. Parker is a book coach, marketing consultant, and the author of over forty books. “Unless you obtain your blog or website visitor’s name and e-mail address on their first visit, you may never get another opportunity to convert their visit into a long and profitable client relationship!” He continues,

The best way to build your e-mail list is to offer helpful, relevant information—information that helps your visitors solve a problem or achieve a desired goal. Quality counts! The quality of the information you share is more important than its length or the number of words included. You must also choose a title for your incentive that effectively communicates the benefits of the information you’re sharing.

Tip sheets make great sign-up incentives. Tip sheets consist of seven to ten numbered ideas, each accompanied by a short paragraph. Rarely are more than two or three sentences needed for each tip. Examples include:

image Top 10 Tips for… (Buying a New Home, Losing Weight, Preparing a Résumé, etc.)

image 10 Things to Look for… (When Job Hunting, Redecorating, Waterproofing your Basement, etc.)

image 10 Biggest Mistakes to Avoid … (When Choosing a Lawyer, Preparing a Will; Buying a Home Theater System, etc.)

image 10 Questions to Ask … (When….)

image 10 Ways to Save Time … (When….)

The advantage of the above tip sheet titles is that the titles not only promise concise, helpful, relevant information, but they also target the keywords and keyword phrases that may have brought your visitors to your blog or website. Once created, your tip sheets can be used for years without change.
