The Azure CosmosDB is one of Microsoft's NoSQL cloud-based databases. Other NoSQL systems in Azure include Table Storage, Azure Redis Cache, and others. CosmosDB is considered a multi-model database; it can support key-value pairs, document-based queries, graph-based models, and also relational database queries.

Traditional Microsoft databases, such as, SQL Server are also available and are supported as fully managed and hosted solutions on the Azure platform.
