Registration in applications is evolving. Just as it was normal to request a mandatory registration to access content earlier, today, the first few seconds our users come into contact with the application are considered critical, and adding a barrier before viewing the content may cause us to lose conversions in the registration process. That's why many applications make much more use of a flexible registration, allowing anonymous visitors to use the application and see the content, registration only being required when it is completely necessary.

There are several ways to decide when it is a good time to apply for mandatory registration. Some applications request registration when the users want to interact with the platform, whilst others allow such interaction, leaving them associated with a group of unregistered anonymous users until such time that the user decides to register on their own initiative.

The choice of one system or another will mainly be based on the nature of the application since some interactions hold more credibility when associated with a specific user. This is the case of reviews, where a review with a name and a photo will be more credible and influential than an anonymous review. However, other interactions, such as liking a product, can work perfectly with a percentage of anonymous users.
