Who this book is for

This book is for anyone who wants to explore Solr from its basic concepts and operations to acquire a practical knowledge of how to use its features. Every example is designed to focus on a single argument. I suggest that you read this book with your team if possible, and create your own examples using your data—following and combining the configurations proposed.

The book contains very small and simple code scripts. It is designed to be used as an introduction even for people who have little or even no specific experience in programming. Thus, the only chapter that contains extensive programming examples is Chapter 9, Introducing Customizations. If you are not interested in customization or you are not a programmer, you can easily skip this part. However, I hope you'll want to share it with some of your colleagues.
