HP-UX 11i Manageability

Operating system management capabilities have evolved into a powerful set of tools for HP-UX 11i system administrators. Traditionally, HP-UX system management is built with GUIs for intuitive execution of system management tasks, Web browser access to system consoles (Central Web Console, Secure Web Console), and the ability to failover system management functions to a backup system.

In its latest incarnation, HP-UX 11i system management functions and products are integrated under Servicecontrol Manager. Servicecontrol Manager provides a single GUI-based interface to all HP-UX system management functions and products. This allows an administrator to manage multiple aspects of the system, including kernel configuration, dynamic allocation of system resources based on service-level objectives, and checking on the currency of security patches.
