This chapter discusses procedures to test the significance of the relationship between two variables. Recommendations are made for choosing the correct statistic based on the level of measurement of variables. The chapter shows how to use PROC GPLOT to prepare bivariate scattergrams, how to use PROC CORR to compute Pearson correlations and Spearman correlations, and how to use PROC FREQ to perform the chi-square test of independence.
