Along with the Intel Edison, we need a couple of more devices, as listed here:
- Power adapter of 9V-1 A for the Intel Edison
- USB sound card
- USB hub, preferably powered
This project will use the Edison on external power and the USB port will be used for the sound card. A non-powered USB hub also works, but because of the current it's recommended to use a powered USB hub.
Make sure that the USB sound card is supported on a Linux environment. The selector switch should be towards the USB port. That is because the Edison will be powered through the DC adapter and we need power in the USB port that is activated only when we provide DC power.
