This sensor has lots of applications, especially in autonomous robotics. Even mapping can be accomplished using this sensor. When a HCSR04 is placed on top of a servo motor, the HCSR04 can be used to map the entire 360 degrees. These are extremely useful when we want to perform simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM).
