Two features present in the current implementation of VLANs in pfSense that will not be discussed in depth but are worth mentioning are QinQ and LAGG (Link Aggregation). QinQ allows you to nest VLAN tags inside each other, thus increasing the possible number of VLANs on your network beyond the 4,093 VLANs that would be possible if no nesting was allowed. LAGG, or link aggregation, allows you to combine multiple ports in parallel, thus increasing total throughput and/or providing redundancy. Each of these features has a separate tab on the VLAN page.
