Get on the Customer’s Mailing List

It is always good to know what is going on within your customer’s organization. Personnel changes, moves, reorganizations, changes in strategic focus, and the like frequently occur, which could impact your relationship with the customer. An excellent way to keep abreast of these changes is to receive the publications and mailings that the customer sends to their employees and customers. Typically this includes the company’s newsletter, product literature, annual reports, and other public documents intended to be shared outside the organization. These are usually obtained simply by asking for them. By receiving this information, not only will you be better able to keep informed about what is going on within their organization, but will demonstrate to the customer your interest in their company.
