Additional Ideas for Using Your Pictures

Many times you'll be using your iPad and suddenly wish you could show someone what's on your screen, such as a funny picture you're viewing through the Safari browser. Any time you wish you had a picture of your iPad screen image to share with others, just press the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time. You'll hear a clicking sound, which means your iPad just took a picture of the screen and stored it in the Photo app. Now you can go into the Photo app, look in the Album category, and peek in the Saved Photos album to see all of your captured screenshots.

Another way to enjoy your pictures is to assign unusual pictures to the names stored in the Contacts app, such as using a picture of a horse's rear end to represent your boss or a picture of a demon or witch to represent a particularly odious co-worker or relative. If you want to turn your pictures into wallpaper to display on your iPad, refer back to Chapter 6.

With so many different types of pictures that you can store on your iPad—from digital photographs to artwork created or modified with programs such as Photoshop or Corel Painter—you can use your iPad as a portable picture frame or a storage device before sending your pictures to others by email.

Viewing, organizing, and sharing pictures may not be the sole reason you got an iPad, but it's just one of many ways you can make your iPad more useful.
