Saving Titles to a Bin

After you create a new title, you should save and render it. We’ll use the Save to Bin option, which renders the title and saves it. If you plan to use your title for television broadcast, you should make sure to activate Safe Colors. This will ensure that only low-saturation colors are used in text, objects, and background.

To save Marquee titles into a Media Composer bin:

1. Select RENDER > OPTIONS to open the Render Options window.

2. Select the USE VIDEO-SAFE COLORS check box as shown in Figure 9.38 and then click OK.

3. Select FILE > SAVE TO BIN. The Save to Avid Bin dialog box appears. Type AGENT ANIMATION as the title’s name in the TITLE NAME text box. Make sure CURRENT FRAME ONLY (STATIC TITLE) is not selected and then click OK as shown in Figure 9.39. Marquee renders the title.

4. After the title is rendered, the Save Title dialog box is open unless you have previously saved a title in this session or if you selected Use Same Save Options as Previous Title, If Available. In the Save Title dialog box, select the AZ PT2 SEQUENCES bin and a hard drive from the pop-up menus.

5. Select DNXHD 60 MXF for the format in the TITLE FORMATS area and then click SAVE.

Media Composer creates the correct format for the title animation clip and loads it into the Source monitor when finished. It is placed into your target bin. All that’s left to do is edit it into your sequence.
