Chapter 4. Implementing Business Logic through Plugins

In this chapter, we are going to use Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 to build a hotel management application. We will learn how to create a Custom entity and how to use a plugin to implement business logic for our hotel management application. In this chapter, we will learn how we can use the developers' toolkit that comes with CRM SDK, to make our plugin development easy.

Application scope

We are going to use Microsoft CRM 2011 to develop a hotel management sample application. In our sample application, we will use some of the Microsoft CRM 2011 OOB entities. We will also create some new entities to store room and food item details. We will utilize the product catalog of Microsoft CRM 2011 to store the room's category, and we will utilize the OOB Price List entity to store pricing information for rooms. We are going to use the Microsoft CRM 2011 on-premise installation on a single server for our application.
