SharePoint Designer inherits the navigation structure components and link bars from FrontPage 2003. You can use these components on sites that allow hidden metadata. WSS v3 sites also allow for use of these navigation components. In this chapter, I discussed the SharePoint Designer navigation tools for SharePoint and non-SharePoint sites.
You also learned how you can use the Navigation pane to design structures. I discussed the internals of the navigation structure and its storage. I explained the Quick Launch bar and site navigation as well as how you use the SharePoint site settings pages to modify the navigation for Web sites.
Finally, I took you through some exercises to help you develop an understanding about how to use SharePoint and ASP.NET navigation controls on a Web site.
