4. Recording MIDI

Now that you know all the ingredients that make up a great Cubase studio, you’re ready to start recording. When Cubase was first introduced to the world in 1989, it was a software MIDI sequencer. If you weren’t playing keyboards, there was little chance that you even would have known what MIDI was. Even today, if you aren’t a keyboard player, you may disregard it, thinking it’s something only keyboard players need to worry about. MIDI is for more than keyboard players, however. It’s a powerful tool to create and edit music in Cubase in multiple ways, and it’s important that you have at least a basic understanding of MIDI.
