The Automated Testing Toolkit (ATT) provides a mechanism for you to run a suite of automated tests that you can use to ensure that your application is working as intended. Being able to perform regression testing using a static set of tests will give you the ability to see whether a recent change you made has broken a feature or whether an upgrade to a new version of Business Central might break something in your application. 

This is an incredibly important step in the development phase since the more tests you perform, the higher the chance that you will find issues before your customers and users do.
