Getting ready

For this recipe, you will need the following installed and configured:

  • NavContainerHelper
  • Docker container (image: mcr.microsoft.com/businesscentral/sandbox; use whichever localization you want)

You can refer to the Option 3 – Sandbox in a local container section in Chapter 1, Let's Get the Basics Out of the Way, in the Setting up your development sandbox recipe, for information on how to set all of this up. You can use a local container or an Azure-hosted one.

The other thing that you'll need before you can perform this recipe is a code signing certificate. If you work with a partner, then you may already have access to one, but if not, then you can create a self-signed certificate using PowerShell to complete the recipe. You can download ch9/3-signing-your-application/scripts/CreateSelfSignedCertificate.ps1 from the GitHub URL at the start of this chapter to create the certificate. Make sure that you launch PowerShell as an administrator.
