While this recipe will work to any solution size, it may not be the right way for you. A CAL solution that contains a large number of custom tables and/or custom fields may require a different approach by moving the data. After all, having to go through all the files to rename and renumber them would take a fair amount of effort and management.

One solution that can work is to move the data using SQL scripting. In this solution, you don't need to have the CAL and AL solutions in a single database, and therefore you aren't required to rename or renumber anything. Another upside is that the data will be moved much faster than doing it using AL code. The potential downside to this type of solution is that it will require some SQL expertise, especially if any data transformation is required.
