X12/EDIFACT control ID replication Logic Apps

Just deploying services such as Logic Apps and your integration account is not going to solve the disaster recovery problem completely – B2B transactions are state-based and each protocol is dependent on some state numbers. In the case of X12, it is an interchange control number. It is important to ensure that when failover happens from one region to another, the control numbers are in sync. This is mainly because most of the trading partner systems will reject duplicate interchange control numbers.

Given all that, in the secondary region, it is important to have a Logic App that looks for interchange control number changes in the primary region and periodically replicates any changes to the secondary region. A typical implementation of such a Logic App looks as follows:
