Background events run within infrastructure and application boundaries and do not interact with the user through a UI. Although background events do not interact directly, they provide contextual information through targeted notifications and updates. An example of a background event would be any event emitted when an application goes offline, or an SMS notification being received. Another example could be when a multiple failure occurs within a Logic Apps workflow.
