Creating a composite serverless application

Once we have at least one Azure subscription associated with Serverless360, the next step is to create a Composite Application in the product. By default, Serverless360 already has an empty Composite Application for us, but let's see how to create a composite application ourselves:

  1. Navigate to Composite Applications: From the service principal screen where we currently are, we navigate to the Composite Applications screen. We do this by clicking on the Composite Applications button in the left-hand side menu bar.
  2. Create a Composite Application: The screen that we see next already shows the default application. By clicking the Create button, we will create another Composite Application:
  1. Enter Composite Application details: The screen contains fields to enter a Name and a Description for the Composite Application. Although only the Name field is required, it is recommended to also enter a Description, to make the purpose of this Composite Application as clear as possible. In our case, we will enter the following for the Composite Application:
    • Name: ACME Order Processing
    • Description: This Composite Application is used as a container for all the Azure components for ACME Order Processing:
  1. Save the Composite Application: The only thing left to do is click the Add button to create the Composite Application. Once we have done that, we will be redirected to the Composite Applications overview screen, and the Composite Application we just created will be shown as well:

Now that we have created a Composite Application, we need to associate Azure serverless components with it. We will discuss this in the next section.
