To step through this recipe, you will need a couple of running ESXi Servers, an instance of vCenter Server, a couple of datastores attached to ESXi, a couple of VMs on these datastores, and vSphere Web Client. No other prerequisites are required.

However, we presume that FAST is enabled on the storage side. Showing how to enable FAST on the storage side is not in the scope of this recipe.
