To configure the ESXi NTP, follow these steps. Configure ESXi to synchronize the time with the Windows Server AD domain controller:
- Connect to the ESXi host or vCenter Server using vSphere Web Client.
- Select the ESXi host from the inventory.
- Click on the Configure tab, then click on Time Configuration under System:
- Click on Edit….
- Click on Use Network Time Protocol (Enable NTP client).
- Click on Start if NTP Service Status says.
- Select Start and stop with host.
- For the NTP Servers, specify the fully qualified domain name or IP address of the Windows Server domain controller(s) separated by commas:
- Click on OK.
- The system will attempt to synchronize with the NTP servers specified. Give the system a couple of minutes to do this, then check the date and time to make sure it is accurate.
