You can also choose to deploy the SharePoint connector to a Microsoft Teams channel. As you've already learned, a Microsoft Team is based on an Office 365 Group, and one of the components of an Office 365 Group is a SharePoint team site. While a lot of the document collaboration efforts may be conducted in Teams, relevant content may be posted in the SharePoint newsfeed that could be of interest to the team. You can use the SharePoint Connector for Teams to bring that data into a Teams conversation by following these steps:

  1. Launch Microsoft Teams and expand a team.
  2. Select a channel, select the ellipsis (...) next to the channel's name, and click Connectors.
  3. Select the SharePoint News connector and click Add:

  1. Click Add on the SharePoint News connector page:

  1. If prompted, provide authentication.
  1. Click Save:

  1. Close the Connectors dialog box.

As new items are added to the team's connected SharePoint site in the SharePoint newsfeed, they will be cross-posted into the Microsoft Teams channel conversation.
