Once you have created an Enterprise Search Center, you can swap the Enterprise Search URL with the current Basic Search URL to make it easier for your users to access. In this demo configuration, the default basic search experience is currently at https://tenant.sharepoint.com/search, but we're going to swap it for the newly created enterprise search center at https://tenant.sharepoint.com/sites/search. Let's get started:
- Connect to SharePoint Online using the SharePoint Online Management Shell (Connect-SPOService -Url https://tenant-admin.sharepoint.com).
- Run the following cmdlet to perform the site swap:
Invoke-SPOSiteSwap -SourceUrl https://tenant.sharepoint.com/sites/search -TargetUrl https://tenant.sharepoint.com/search -ArchiveUrl https://tenant.sharepoint.com/sites/ArchivedBasicSearch
- Go back to the original search site and perform a search to verify that you have the new Enterprise Search experience:
As you can see, the results from the Enterprise Search experience show verticals for People, Conversations, and Videos.
