Additional Stream admin features

While we covered some of the bigger Stream configuration and integration items, there are a number of additional administration features available. We'll go through them quickly here. Stream administration features are available by logging in to https://web.microsoftstream.com/admin or by logging in to the Stream portal and selecting Settings and then Admin settings.

The Stream admin center can be seen in the following screenshot:

The Stream admin center has a number of features and options available. Take a look at the following table to understand how the service can be configured further:

Setting Options
Administrators Grant the ability to individual users to administer Stream features and content, including changing privacy settings and reassigning ownership of videos or channels.
Spotlight videos Add up to four videos in the Spotlight carousel.
Live events Manage the list of users that are allowed to create live events (by default, all users can) and see which events are currently live or scheduled.
Company policies Specify the settings for a compliance policy and whether users need to accept the compliance policy before uploading videos.
Usage details View the usage details of Stream in the tenant and enable alerting for when a threshold quota is exceeded.
Recycle bin View, restore, and purge deleted items. Items will be held in the Recycle Bin for 30 days before being automatically purged.
Groups Nothing can actually be managed here. It provides links to the Office 365 admin center and the Azure portal.
Support Provides a link to a chatbot and the ability to open a support ticket with Microsoft.
Comments Globally enable or disable commenting on videos.
People timeline Enable or disable people detection for uploaded videos (On by default). If you switch it off, it will permanently delete the detection data. After switching it back on, you'll need to re-upload content if you want to enable detection for a video.
Content creation This provides some options so that you can restrict video uploads to certain users (enabled for all users by default) and restrict which users can create companywide channels (enabled for all users by default), as well as the default video permissions (either companywide or restricted to group membership).
eCDN solutions Allows you to enable or disable integration with third-party eCDN solutions for delivery and analytics. If you select this option, you'll need to set up a service with one of the supported providers (currently, this will be Hive, Kollective, or Ramp) and insert your customer ID and other configuration settings on this page.
Manage user data Generate a report of the videos a given user has uploaded and has access to, comments they have left, and group membership.
Manage deleted users Permanently delete data for deleted users.
