Giving up caffeine can be hard! That’s why we created this detox-promoting, coffee-flavored alternative. Start by mixing this with regular coffee, and gradually eliminate regular coffee altogether. When you’re free from the artificial energy of caffeine, you’ll be amazed at how much energy you have naturally!

CLEANSE
6 cups water
2 tbsp roasted chicory root, finely ground
2 tbsp dandelion root, finely ground
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
1–2 vanilla beans, chopped into pieces, or ¼–½ tsp vanilla powder
Stevia (optional), to taste
Nut milk of choice (optional), steamed and frothed
1 In a 2-quart saucepan, combine the water, chicory root, dandelion root, cinnamon, and vanilla beans. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
2 Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove the grounds. Serve with a few drops of stevia and steamed nut milk, if desired.
This is one of Jo’s favorites when she’s not cleansing. Matcha, a green tea variety that’s full of antioxidants, is known to boost metabolism, improve concentration, and deliver sustained energy without the jitters.

1 tsp matcha powder (The Tea Spot brand recommended)
¾ cup Almond Milk
Stevia or honey, to taste (use stevia for low sugar)
In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil and then whisk in the matcha powder. When the powder has dissolved, whisk in the almond milk and continue to heat on low until warmed. Sweeten to taste with stevia or honey.
