The Render Queue

It’s time to render out your animation. Press Command/Ctrl+M (I remember it as “M” for “Make movie”), and the Render Queue panel opens, tabbed with the Timeline panel (Figure 13-46).

Render Settings

Before rendering, you need to decide on the render settings and the format to which you’re outputting. To the right of Render Settings, click Best Setting to open the Render Settings dialog. Select Quality: Best and Resolution: Full. Leave the rest of the parameters as they are, and click OK (Figure 13-47).

Output Module

To the right of Output Module, click Lossless to open the Output Module Settings dialog. For Format, choose QuickTime. In the Video Output area, click Format Options to open the QuickTime Options dialog box. For final output, under Video Codec, select H.264 from the drop-down list. This format compresses the file so it will play smoothly on your computer while maintaining good image quality. Under Advanced Settings, select Key Frame Every __ Frames, and enter 10. Leave Quality at 100. Click OK in both the QuickTime Options and Output Module Settings dialogs (Figure 13-48).

To the right of Output To, click SeasonsChangeForAE.mov, and select where the movie will be outputted. In the upper-right corner of the Render Queue panel, click Render i1324.tif . Go get a cup of coffee, because the render will take a few minutes.

You can check your work against the final file for this project, SeasonsChange_07_CameraMove.aep.
